2. Pre-Conditioning the Spirit

3. Filter Conditioning

Before processing the product, flush and condition the lenticular module according to supplier guidelines. 4. Carbon Depth Filtration Process

Pump the spirit through the Roheap CSD module at a controlled, low flow rate. The depth structure creates a long flow path, increasing contact time with the activated carbon. During passage through the media, unwanted odour and flavour compounds are adsorbed onto the carbon surface while particulates are captured within the depth layers.

5. Post-Filtration Finishing

  • For vodka and neutral spirit, carbon lenticular filtration is commonly used as a polishing step to improve smoothness and neutrality.
    • For gin, carbon treatment is normally applied to the neutral base spirit before botanical infusion, as activated carbon will also remove desirable aromas.
    • Compared with loose carbon dosing, lenticular carbon depth filters provide cleaner handling, controlled contact, and integrated particulate removal.
